southerly winds will increase through the rest of this morning
behind departing high pressure around 30.0 inches and low 
pressure around 29.0 inches moving from central manitoba into 
ontario. winds will peak this afternoon into tonight, leading to a
period of southerly gales. a gale warning has been issued for the
northern third of the open waters.

southerly winds will persist on saturday, while becoming lighter
saturday morning into saturday afternoon as the low over canada 
pulls away to the northeast. southerly winds will then pick back 
up sunday afternoon into monday ahead of approaching low pressure.
gales are possible monday, but more likely for tuesday. multiple 
rounds of showers and storms will be possible this weekend into 
early next week.
