waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...an elongated 29.4 inch low will stretch from western
minnesota early this morning to the central great lakes 
midday, with one piece of this low passing just south of the lake 
wednesday night. a 29.3 inch low will develop over the central 
plains thursday, then move to the central great lakes by friday 
night, weakening to 29.7 inches as it moves just north of lake 
ontario saturday. a 30.4 inch high will then slowly build east 
across the great lakes through early next week.

today, lifting a warm front north across lake erie. another low 
pressure system will deepen to 29.30 inches as it approaches 
southern lake michigan thursday night, continuing northeast on
friday and sweeping a cold front east across lake erie. a trough 
averaging 30.10 inches will linger across the eastern great lakes
through the weekend.
