waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 30.1 inch ridge will build over the lower great lakes 
today. an elongated 29.4 inch low will stretch from minnesota to the 
central great lakes wednesday, with one piece of this low passing 
just south of the lake wednesday night. a 29.3 inch low will develop 
over the central plains thursday, then move to the central great 
lakes by friday night, weakening to 29.7 inches as it moves just 
north of lake ontario saturday. a 30.4 inch high will then slowly 
build east across the great lakes through early next week.
