waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 30.1 inch will build across quebec today. a wavy 
frontal boundary over the upper great lakes on saturday will cross
lake ontario sunday. low pressure will develop along this 
boundary on sunday, strengthening to 28.9 inches as it moves into
eastern canada on monday. a 30.4 inch high will then build across
the mid-atlantic states on tuesday.

.synopsis...low pressure, 29.40 inches, begins lifting toward the
great lakes today with southwest winds ramping up. widespread
rain moves in saturday as the low pressure center approaches the
local waters. departure of the low draws a cold front through the
region, with a brief period of gusty winds with the frontal
passage. another low clips the eastern great lakes sunday, but
impacts will be minimal to the local waters.
