waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 30.3 inch high will expand across the entire great 
lakes region today. the expansive area of high pressure will then
settle to the mid atlantic region on friday. a strong cold front 
will cross the lake friday night. weak ridging will then build 
into the region for saturday. a trough will approach sunday, 
developing into a 29.5 inch low as it tracks into maine on monday.

.synopsis...
high pressure 30.30 inches will build over the area and persist 
through thursday night. this high will shift to the tennessee 
valley on friday, with a cold front dropping across the lake early
saturday before stalling south of lake erie. low pressure 29.90 
inches moves across the southern great lakes sunday and deepens to
29.60 inches while exiting to the northeast sunday night. a 
trough averaging 29.90 inches will linger behind the departing low 
across the great lakes through the first half of next week.
