a ridge averaging 29.80 inches will persist through today as a 
near stationary boundary lingers near lake erie. low pressure 
29.70 inches will move along this boundary on wednesday, lifting 
a warm front north followed by a cold front east wednesday 
afternoon. a ridge averaging 30.20 inches will build into the area
on thursday, followed by a stronger low pressure system 29.40 
inches moving east through the great lakes on friday. high 
pressure 30.10 inches returns saturday.

strong to severe storms. all severe hazards will be possible. the
system's frontal passage eventually leads to a transition to
melting snowfall by wednesday evening. seasonably cool conditions
ensue thursday, followed by more rain, snow, and wind with
another system on friday.

.synopsis...

a cold front will continue southward across southern lake 
michigan this morning, reaching the southern shore after
sunrise. the northeast winds will remain rather light over the far
southern portion of the lake, where areas of dense fog may form
today and continue tonight. farther north toward central lake 
michigan, brisk northeast winds and building waves are expected. 

low pressure around 29.6 inches develops in the central great 
plains and progresses into northern illinois tonight. there is 
some potential for thunderstorms across the southern third of the 
lake late this afternoon and tonight. low pressure ejects to the 
lower great lakes into wednesday morning, turning winds 
northwesterly and allowing rain to slowly transition to snow. 
infrequent gale force gusts will be possible wednesday morning 
through wednesday afternoon, mainly over the south half of the 
lake. winds gradually diminish into thursday morning.

another round of gales is possible thursday night into friday as a
compact clipper low of 29.2 inches crosses northern lake michigan.
