waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a large 30.6 inch high will build east across the lake 
tonight, then slide to the atlantic coastline monday. a 29.8 inch 
low just north of lake superior tuesday will pass north of the lake, 
resulting in a pair of fronts passing across the region. following 
the passage of this system, a 30.4 inch high will then build across 
the lake wednesday, sliding off the atlantic coastline thursday.
