waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.synopsis...a 29.5 inch low will move east across new england and 
into the gulf of maine this afternoon. a 30.1 inch high will then 
build from the ohio valley this afternoon to off the mid atlantic 
coast by late thursday while strengthening to 30.3 inches. a 29.5 
inch low will move from near lake michigan thursday night to quebec 
friday, with a trailing cold front crossing the lake friday. another 
29.6 inch low is forecast to develop over lower michigan saturday, 
then move to quebec by sunday while deepening to 29.1 inches. a 
trailing cold front is forecast to cross the lake saturday night.
