| Canandaigua OverviewCanandaigua Lake, the fourth largest of the Finger Lakes, is sailed primarily in the prevailing southerlies. The launch in Kershaw Park at the northern end of the lake has a sandy bottom that is waist-deep for 200 yards, a grass rigging area, and nice picnic facilities. The renovated facilities at Kershaw now include a "Small Craft Launch Area" complete with a sign listing buoy information. In addition, there is no longer any parking fee at Kershaw.
Kiting in this area is difficult due to the great number of obstructions for launching and landing your kite.
