Sensor Notes
Data from this station is courtesy of NOAA's National Data Buoy Center. This is a NOAA sensor. The wind data typically updates every 3 hours. This open ocean sensor is about 12 miles from shore. It very useful in the spring and early summer in giving a hint of winds to come later in the day. In the summer there can often be wind at the buoy but dead or light all day on the beach. If the S.F. Pilot Station is also getting strong NW winds by midday then the wind may get to the shoreline.
