STATION MOVED- Arlington Overview
Long recognized as one of the standout areas that the Gorge has to offer, Arlington is famous for it's amazingly large swell formations which break directly into the launch area.
A new sandbag pathway built down to the water's edge provides a smooth entry on more manageable 25-30 mph days, but becomes truly dangerous on BIG days (40-50 mph). A more sheltered lauch from the lee side (East) of the grain elevators usually involves a short swim to the wind line.
Best sailing conditions develop right up against the Oregon side from the entrance of the marina east down past the grain elevators. Winds here can generally be about 1/2 meter lighter than they are at Roosevelt, but terrific swell formations and a quick drive are good trade-offs. Very few facilities are located at the parking area, restrooms can be found in the marina area adjacent to the grain elevators. Several food options are available in the town itself. Best sailing season occurs from early April through late May and then again from September to October. Some mid-summer sessions are possible, but less frequent.

Sensor Notes
This sensor location is similar to Maryhill as it is positioned on the grain silos just east of the main launch area on the Oregon side. It is located on a platform which sticks out into the river about 30 feet from the shoreline and 30 feet above the water. One of the toughest launches around but generally regarded as having the largest swells in the Gorge because it sits at the end of a 12 mile straight stretch of river.
