Waves-REAL Slick Overview

The Slick is up-wind of REAL and launching and landing from their site is restricted for safety and convenience of their clients. It is about a 2.5 mile downwinder from Salvo Day-use Area (SDA). The Slick is butter smooth in SW winds but can get crowded in season.

The sensor is west of REAL and not actually located at the "Slick". Because it is away from the island, it is a very good indicator of the winds away from turbulence. The sensor overstates wind conditions in the stick by 2-4 knots.
