.synopsis...

the 30.2 inch ridge currently over lake superior gives way to a 29.8 
inch trough tonight through thursday as a 29.6 inch low over 
northern manitoba moves to far northern ontario. the low moves east 
over hudson bay toward quebec, deepening to 29.3 inches thursday 
night. as a result, the trough over lake superior deepens to 29.6 
inches then presses east on friday, allowing a 30.5 inch high to 
move over the lake by saturday. the high will shift east through 
sunday in advance of another weak trough moving into the great lakes 
early next week, but exact strength and timing of this feature 
remain uncertain.
