Ocean Beach Overview

The Ocean Beach sensor is located at the southern end of the Ocean Beach area, at Fort Funston. This sensor has been found to be a good wind indicator for Ocean Beach, but because OB stretches for multiple miles, local differences will exist. Explore and enjoy. The Ocean Beach / Fort Funston sensor is also extremely valuable to hang gliders and paragliders. Sensor Notes

This sensor is located on the roof of a small building near the Ft. Funston parking lot. It is useful for hang gliders and Ocean Beach surfers and windsurfers. It may give some hint of winds in the Peninsula later in the day in the spring.
