It's true that climate change has become a significant focal point in global discussions and sometimes it scares me |

Does it scare you enough to buy some ocean front property, and fly your private jet around from one colossal home to another? You know, like all the other alarmists who have caught on to that they can be tax grabbing dictators. |

Sometimes impossible to tell the petroleum shills from thecrazy people. But the damage done, and the lies behind it are pretty clear.
Quote: | The joint investigation into ExxonMobil Corporation, Chevron Corporation, Shell Oil Company, BP America (BP), the American Petroleum Institute (API), and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, uncovered new evidence of the fossil fuel industry’s pattern of deceptive claims regarding its products, their effects on the climate, and its plans to reduce emissions and combat climate change.
“Our investigation revealed how Exxon, Chevron, Shell, BP, API, and the Chamber worked in concert to mislead the public, policymakers, and investors with public promises to reduce emissions and meaningfully contribute to the transition away from oil and gas, while privately seeking to lock in continued fossil fuel production for decades into the future,” wrote Whitehouse and Raskin. “The investigation also demonstrated that the fossil fuel industry continues to knowingly obfuscate the dangers of natural gas, which they have billed as a clean and green fuel. This evidence, combined with the entities’ failure to comply fully with validly issued congressional subpoenas, suggests that further investigation by the executive branch is warranted.”
“Our investigation into the fossil fuel industry calls to mind the historic congressional investigation into deceptive practices of the tobacco industry and its trade associations, which led to investigations and litigation by several state attorneys general and the Department of Justice (DOJ),” they continued. “DOJ is well situated to pursue further investigation and take any appropriate legal action, as it has in similar cases involvhttps://www.budget.senate.gov/chairman/newsroom/press/whitehouse-raskin-urge-doj-to-investigate-fossil-fuel-disinformation-ing the tobacco and pharmaceutical industries.” |
Or you could have them raise a billion for Trump so they can continue to coook the planet--and buy second homes on the Outer Bank. |

Good morning Craig, I figured as much at the time of posting that. It seemed like a good opportunity to point out that there's always nefarious players on each side of these type of issues. There's always been those who will stop at nothing for profit, and then those who hide behind supposedly virtuous causes, like saving the planet, but still have opportunistic profit seeking intents. Some people build a career around only staring in one direction while being naive to the manipulation of those who claim to be virtuous, and believe they are morally superior for doing so. The obvious profiteers are at least predictable. The scary ones are the covert virtue narcissists who brainwash their cult-like followers while reaping profits from their manipulative narratives. Don't get me wrong, as an outdoor enthusiast, I'm all for respecting the planet, and have definitely done my part to make things better, but I'm not going to be manipulated into wrapping my identity around it.
BUT -- be honest, were you not looking down the topic and reply columns of the "off-topic" landing page and seeing nothing but Mac and Real Human, and thinking' "oh wow, there's a reply that isn't from one of those two. I should click on that one because these two are pretty obnoxious."? I know, they say (or think) they are especially smart, but how many "smart" people do you know who would waste their greatest assets "TIME", and mental "HEALTH" posting E-N-D-L-E-S-S-L-Y on here? AND, to what ends? It seems mostly to stoke their fragile egos and narcissism.
Oh well, toodles. I hadn't looked here for some time, and it was interesting to see NOTHING has changed on here, or as a result of the two geniuses impact on the world. Always good to see Boggs is a mensch. |

False claims, isn't that the specialty of the EV / renewable energy industry? OK, maybe not completely false, but completely misleading, and inaccurate. But you just keep staring over there and buying into the false claims of those which you deem virtuous. As for OBX house.....who the hell would buy coastal property? (Hint: Gates, Kerry, Obama.....hypocrites) Shouldn't OBX be completely under water by now?
