waterways until this evening. the ridge briefly centers over
southern lower michigan tonight, but then gets forced out on
tuesday by an ontario low pressure system and its cold front. the
trough feature crosses the northern great lakes tuesday, clipping
the northern waters of lake huron which results in a few
additional light snow showers. a warm front lifts across the
great lakes region wednesday offering milder and wetter
conditions midweek.

.synopsis...

low pressure of 29.6 inches off the coast of maine will continue
east as high pressure of 30.5 inches in the northern plains
advects toward michigan. the pressure gradient is weaken between
these two systems which will bring an end to the gusty winds.
winds will continue to diminish through this afternoon as the high
builds in. light and variable winds are expected this evening into
tonight as the high moves overhead. 

as this high exits tuesday and a weak front passes, winds may 
pick up a bit from the south. largely south winds remain through
wednesday, as a broad low pressure around 29.8 inches approaches 
from the west. chances for precipitation on tuesday and again on 
wednesday though primarily for northern parts of the lake.

northern ontario and briefly extends a 30.1 inch trough over lake 
superior tuesday morning. 30.3 inch ridging quickly builds back over 
the lake by tuesday evening associated with high pressure of 30.4 
inches over northern ontario. another clipper low around 29.7 inches 
phases with a shortwave low lifting off of the northern rockies 
tuesday and tuesday night, bringing troughing of at least 29.8 
inches back across lake superior by wednesday. a secondary 29.6 inch 
low moves over the upper great lakes wednesday night into thursday. 
by friday, expansive ridging of 30.7 inches builds over the great 
plains, shifting over the mississippi river valley by saturday 
morning and south of the great lakes by that evening.
