Anyone thinking of going to cabarete this summer.

They are opening up international travel on july 1 .
The past wind trends have been solid 20-30 daily.

I know vela and ion are both opening. I dont want to be the only one going there , hahaha

Beaches are currently closed. Unsure when they'll open, at least be tolerated to use for sports, or open centers....

They are still arresting sailors.

EDIT: no flights out of POP until November so STI or SDQ instead.

You could check webcams at Cabarete and see a good wind and nobody sailing.

"They are still arresting sailors."
WOW, I haven't been back to Cabarette for 18 years, but I went a lot back then. There were no police back then, occasional storefront or resort security guys, rarely any uniforms. I guess things have changed quite a bit.
Too bad about no windsurfing, seems like a very safe and healthy psychological way to be outside during this time .

Airplane travel, to me would fall into an emergency type situation.

A few kites hit the water today. I guess it depends on whether the police cares to arrest people. I'm tempted to try my luck.
