Berkeley Ca. Long slog to windline.
At 160 lbs., add a wetsuit, if gusts hit 22, I'm on 1 of my 7 85 liter boards.
I can slog an 85 liter board down to around 4 mph breeze, then it disappears under the brown water. |

Congrats on the longevity! In the crew I sail with we have a guy who's called The Wolf (wordplay on his name). He turns 77 in a few months.

| Yeah, I used to windsurf with Bikini Bob and Tom Hartz on the same day, ages 78 and 84. They rode 110 liter boards. |

If allowed, you could always head for Hatteras. It has been open to visitors for about 10 days and it has been WINDY!! Winds ahead, during and behind Tropical Storm Arthur gave us mid 20's to mid 40s five days last week. Plenty of wind forecast for this week with temps finally climbing but still cool for late May. It will be worth the drive! |

| Thank you for your concern. Dare County (which includes Hatteras) has had 22 Covid cases so far and one Covid related death of a 93 year old with several serious underlying conditions. There is no doubt that the return of tourists increases the risk of an escalation. Some will not be as cautious as they should be, but hopefully most will. However, I'm fairly confident that the risk-reward equation associated with high wind sailing in 100 square miles of open water with one kiter, tilts in favor of doing it! |

On Long Island a number of beaches and parks are closed, but there are spots where we can get on the water. We've socially distanced and are pulling it off, primarily at spots that do not attract beachgoers but give good access.
