For waves/swell, the swell speed is around 10-16 knots in 20-25 knots, hence don't need a fast wing but one that lifts and does not overtake the swell.
The 84 and 99 sounds like the right speed but are they turny enough (say, compared to Gofoil Maliko 200 and 280)? |
Likely fuselage length and where you position the mast will effect that. Plus perhaps rear wing choice.

fathomfathom, I haven't actually foiled Gofoil foils so cannot comment. multiple foilers in Dallas use the i84 for allround conditions, then use the i76 or Time Code 68 if its windier.
As grantmac017 mentioned I did test the i84/48 on the short fuse with the wizard and it was not good in flat water, very pitchy and difficult to jibe. The rear wings make a huge difference.
The i84 with 42 rear wing is pretty nimble in position B or C (might depend on body weight).
The i84 with 48 rear wing is powerful and earlier to foil up in position C, but turns slower and needs a tad more back foot pressure. This is the best set up for learning to jibe as it keeps very good foil height and you can slow it down to near stall speed.
