Speaking of health care news, the republicans killed the bill to help ill first responders, and their families, of the 911 attacks. Sane people would ask, why?
The bill contained legislation, to pay for the services provided, by closing a tax loop-hole. The GOP spun it as a tax increase, but, in reality it was a measure to get multi-national corporations with a P.O. Box in the Grand Caymans to pay what they actually owe. You know like all the rest of us.
The GOP should be ashamed. |

The GOP is all about big business...duh...the main goal is to remove government regulation and soften up the tax codes. Any method to achieve that end is on the table. They will say anything, cozy up to anyone, and embarrass themselves in public if thats what it takes. They are more that willing to take the hit...its just one of the prices of doing business. The men behind the curtain could give a shit about abortion, gay marriage, church and state or any other cultural issue. They know some of the voters do, and that is their path to success. It really is just about a bigger yacht. _________________ /w\ |

So who would Carlin vote for? Che?
That is exactly why conservatives didn't want the bailouts. Put those DEMOCRAT fat cats on wall street out of business. Start fresh.
THIS MOST UNBELIEVABLE PRESIDENT?
HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO REQUIRE THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.
Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued, "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated theselfishness of some of my fellow Americans." |

A google search suggests that the above quotation supposedly made by the great president is simply fabricated (as well as ancient news).

For a lot of people it seems difficult to care about or comprehend facts.

Yeah, Che. Thats it. The GOP depends on
you to follow that train of thought, Bard. Don't let them down. _________________ /w\

Bard does have a way making stuff up, or simply using nonsense from others. Regarding the latter, it's usually done without proper credit to the party or person creating it. |

2nd source seems to uphold the substance of Obamas statements.
Illegal’s Boycott Arizona By Leaving
Phoenix, AZ (AP) - Thousands of illegal immigrants are showing their outrage with Arizona's controversial new SB-1070 law by boycotting the state and moving elsewhere.
One example of those who are punishing the state by leaving is illegal immigrant Manuel Renaldo. As he loaded his stolen car with his family of twelve's belongings, Renaldo told this reporter through an interpreter, "It's a matter of principle, 'homes.' I refuse to be supported by someplace that treats me like a criminal."
The affects of the exodus are being felt by Arizona retailers who report dwindling beer, spray paint, and ammunition sales. Also hit hard are Arizona hospitals, who have reported a dramatic decline in births and emergency room visits by illegal aliens. "We're ecstatic," said one administrator for Banner Health in Phoenix. "At this rate we may see a profit one day."
The boycott/exodus of Arizona by illegals is expected to grow exponentially leading up to the law's starting date.
