Kiteboarding is fun and perfect for 15-20 mph winds here on the OBX. My calendar from 2004 has many more Ks then Ws, but I only wavesail on a windsurfer, and my biggest sail is a 5.3m. So, when I have the option to hit the waves on my windsurfer, I go for it, but there are many more good days of kiteable wind as compared to conditions for windsurfing. I still consider myself a windsurfer rather than kiteboarder because I love wavesailing soooo much. Nothing compares to head high peeling surf, side off wind, and powered 4.7m conditions. If I was a flat water speed windsurfer, I might switch to kiteboarding, but in the waves, nothing compares to my Quatro wave stick! Cant wait, August/Sept/Oct are coming... best time of year on the OBX for wavesailing!!!
