Awesome news: after months of me whining, and arguing, and sweet-talking, the new concessionaire (ExplorUS) of the recreation areas around Isabella Lake, agreed to once again permit windsports to have guaranteed access corridors (just like we had for 5 years under Forest Service administration).
Right after this holiday weekend, I will deploy (1) set of signage each at our preferred launches at the AuxiliaryDam as well as at the Ghetto, marking 25ft corridors to be kept clear for windsurfers and foilers.
No more being shut out by unattended RVs and miscellaneous and sundry gear placed to reserve beach front for an event!
Yay!
To clarify: these our launch corridors are just like launch ramps - a boater can avail himself if he so choses; but is free to launch his craft off a beach instead if he prefers. We the windsportlers can launch wherever, but when the doo-doo hits the overcrowded fan, we can fall back on to these launch corridors

ja - I must admit to be proud of this victory - just a few months ago, it seemed utterly impossible...
as far as sailing at Isabella Lake: there is the concessionaire, who charges access to the beaches we customarily launch from - day use is $12.-, as is camping, but for "camping", you get a 50% discount for NPS or Senior passes, so, by all means, do purchase the camping pass!! For us locals, there is a $60.- annual day use pass.
To operate a non-motorized watercraft on our fair lake, you can purchase the $30.- annual pass from Kern Co Parks&Rec, or a 3-day pass for $15.-
We have a tacit agreement with Lake Patrol that we need buy only (1) pass per operator, rather than the (1) per board as it is still written in their official rule book. This generous allowance may be revoked if many of us decide they don't need to bother
